Baggage
Our baggage policy is outlined below, including rates and weight restrictions for the various types of baggage allowance available. Once you book your flight, you can purchase further allowance through the Your Booking section. This information is also available in our Terms and Conditions.
General Weight allowances
The maximum baggage weights per passenger* for all flyglobespan flights are displayed in the following table. For further information please see the relevant section underneath. Any excess baggage required can be purchased below, up to the maximum combined weight of 50kg.

N.B - Infants under the age of 2 years who do not occupy a seat are not entitled to a baggage allowance.
Cabin Baggage
Flyglobespan passengers are entitled to take ONE bag on board. There is no cost for this and the bag must be no larger than 55cm x 45cm x 20cm. Whilst there is no weight restriction (within the 20kg allowance), passengers must be able to put their own bag in the overhead lockers without assistance.
Passengers and their baggage will be subjected to security screening throughout their journey. To assist us with this, please ensure that your cabin baggage is suitably packed.
Passengers may take liquids on board in their hand luggage provided the liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100ml and can be fitted comfortably into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag.
DO NOT pack sharp items in your hand luggage. These include household cutlery, knives with blades of any length, tools, scissors, tweezers, toy/replica guns (metal or plastic), razor blades, knitting needles and darts.
Checked-in baggage - Europe / Turkey / Egypt (excluding sporting equipment)
Flyglobespan apply a small charge for baggage to be checked in on all European / Egypt flights*.
Passengers prepaying this via the website will be charged £9.99 / 12.00 per bag each way, whilst passengers opting to pay at the airport will be charged £15 / 17 per bag each way and will have to pay this charge at the ticket desk before check in.
Please note that purchase of additional checked in bags does not increase your 20kg combined cabin & checked in baggage allowance. If you are above 20kg then excess baggage must be purchased.

Checked-in baggage - Florida 2010 (excluding sporting equipment)
Flyglobespan apply a small charge for baggage to be checked in on all Florida (Summer 2010) flights*.
Passengers prepaying this via the website will be charged £12.50 / $20.50 / 14.50 per bag each way, whilst passengers opting to pay at the airport will be charged £20 per bag each way and will have to pay this charge at the ticket desk before check in.
Please note that purchase of additional checked in bags does not increase your 25kg combined cabin & checked in baggage allowance. If you are above 25kg then excess baggage must be purchased.
* This charge will be subject to review and flyglobespan reserves the right to increase this charge without prior notice..
Excess Baggage
Europe / Egypt
Additional baggage allowance can be purchased in advance at the rate of £20 / 30 for 10 kilos per flight sector, up to a combined maximum of 50 kilos for combined, checked-in and excess baggage . No piece of luggage may weight more than 32 kilos
A confirmation will be sent to you by email. You MUST take this with you when you travel. If this confirmation is not presented at check-in, your excess baggage will be charged at £8 / 12 per kilo at the airport.
Long Haul (Canada / Florida)
Additional baggage allowance can be purchased in advance at the rate of £50 / 60 / CAD$80 / USD$70 for 10 kilos per flight sector, up to a combined maximum of 50 kilos for combined, checked-in and excess baggage. No piece of luggage may weight more than 32 kilos.
A confirmation will be sent to you by email. You MUST take this with you when you travel. If this confirmation is not presented at check-in, your excess baggage will be charged at £20 / 25 / CAD$35 / USD$30 per kilo at the airport.
This facility is available only on flights displayed in the excess baggage booking facility on the left.
Freight or cargo items cannot be accepted as passenger baggage.

Sporting & Diving Equipment
Due to strict weight regulations, we are limited to the amount and type of sports equipment we can carry on each flight. The carriage of such equipment must be booked in advance. A confirmation will be sent to you by email. You MUST take this with you when you travel. If this confirmation is not presented at check-in, payment for the items will have to be made again. Sporting equipment is carried on a limited release basis, i.e. entirely at your own risk for loss, damage or delay.
Sporting equipment will be carried subject to load and as such we cannot guarantee space on the flight on which you are booked for such items. In the unlikely event that space is not available, the equipment will be sent on the next flight with available space. Passengers CANNOT turn up at the airport with any type of sports equipment which has not been pre-booked.
Charges for items permitted for carriage (Europe / Egypt Flights):
- Bicycles - £20 per flight sector. Bicycles must be wrapped in stiff cardboard with the pedals off and the handlebars turned in line with the frame.
- Golf Clubs - £20 per flight sector
- Snowboards - £20 per flight sector
- Bowls - £20 per flight sector
- Skis - £20 per flight sector
- Body Boards - £20 per flight sector
- Diving Equipment - £20 per flight sector
Charges for items permitted for carriage (Longhaul Flights):
- Bicycles - £50 per flight sector. Bicycles must be wrapped in stiff cardboard with the pedals off and the handlebars turned in line with the frame.
- Golf Clubs - £50 per flight sector
- Snowboards - £50 per flight sector
- Bowls - £50 per flight sector
- Skis - £50 per flight sector
- Body Boards - £50 per flight sector
- Diving Equipment - £50 per flight sector
The maximum weight allowed for any one piece of sporting equipment is 16 kilos.
Diving Equipment
One suitably packed diving kit consisting of not more than one each of the following items:
- face mask
- fins (pair)
- harness
- knife
- pressure gauge
- regulator
- safety vest
- snorkel tanks
- weight belt
Note: Cylinders/Tanks must be empty for carriage. Air/Oxygen Cylinders (TANKS) and knives must be carried in your checked-in baggage.
Excess baggage charges of £8 per kilo (Europe / Egypt Flights) £20 per kilo (Longhaul Flights) payable at the airport will apply to any sporting equipment exceeding the weights stipulated.
Prices shown above are in GBP (£ sterling). Out with the UK they will be applied at the equivalent rate in local currency.
Once confirmed, all bookings for excess baggage and sporting equipment are non-refundable
Pushchairs, Buggies and Travel Cots
Pushchairs, buggies and travel cots can be taken right up to the aircraft steps and/or door, where they will be taken by cabin crew and stored in the hold. Alternatively, these items may be checked in with your baggage, should you wish to do so. Full size, non-collapsible prams cannot be accepted for travel. Pushchairs, prams and travel cots do not form part of the baggage allowance and therefore no fee will be charged.
Lost Baggage
The airport dealing with your baggage issue should be able to locate your bag within 5 days. However should this not be the case please call 0141 887 5613 where our agents will be happy to assist. Please do not call this number for anything else other than missing or delayed baggage.
