Majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage during all four seasons make Vancouver one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Known for the friendly nature of its people and offering endless options for activities, sights and attractions, Vancouver is sure to delight every visitor.
Eating & Drinking
Vancouver, with more restaurants per capita than any other city in Canada, is a paradise for foodies.
Reflecting Vancouver's cosmopolitan population, most international cuisines can be found, with plenty of affordable Chinese, Vietnamese and Sushi restaurants on offer. If you can't decide on which cuisine to go for fear not - there are also plenty of restaurants offering fusion food with some good choices in the West End streets of Robson, Denman and Davie
Visitors looking for a more expensive treat will also find some fantastic options in Vancouver, with the Kitsilano and Downtown areas offering some great top end choices.
When it comes to the city's nightlife, Gastown is probably the most popular area, however there are various venues throughout the city that offer some lively bistros and tapas bars, as well as great live music venues. Beer lovers can also sample some of the excellent local microbrews found in Vancouver, many produced right on the bar premises.
The surrounding area
Vancouver Island is only a short ferry ride away. Here you will find the provincial capital of Victoria - 'the garden city' - and the spectacular Butchart Gardens, a place not to be missed. With its heady aromas and bursts of vibrant colours, this is an attraction not to be missed. Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and is located on the sunny southern tip of Vancouver Island. The city's old world charm is preserved in its heritage buildings, splendid formal gardens, and old-fashioned horse-drawn carriages. It retains its strong British appeal, with trademark double-decker buses and delightful, quaint tearooms. Hire a car to explore its many beautiful beaches.
Whistler is located 75 miles north of Vancouver amidst the spectacular coastal mountains of British Columbia. In addition to being recognised as the number one ski resort in North America, Whistler also offers a wide variety of outdoor activities in the summer months including hiking, biking and horseback riding.
